Ever notice that we try to rush time? When I was 5 I couldn't wait 'til I was 6 so I could ride the "big kids bus" to school. When I was 10, I couldn't wait til I was 11, cause then I would be in Jr. High (7th through 9th grade ~ middle school ( 6 - 8th) is a new school thang). When I was 13 I couldn't wait til 15 so I could go to High school. When I was 15, I wanted to be 16 so I could drive. When I was 16, I wanted to be 18 because I was tired of my parents' rules. When I was 18, I wanted to be 21 so I could drink and club. When I was 21, I wanted to be 25 so I could go to the "more mature" clubs. When I was 26, I wanted my kids to be older, I was saying I wanted my older son to be 15 which meant I wanted to be 35. Now that I am 35, I want to go back to the 5-year-old-me and encourage me to keep up my dance classes. I want to go back to the 10-year-old-me and tell me not to be in a hurry to get breasts, they will come soon enough and you got your whole life to carry them around *smile*. I want to go to the 13-year-old-me and say enjoy your time with your friends but don't change your dreams to fit in. I want to go and tell the 15 year old me to go to the school of the Arts, I know your friends won't be there but it's ok if you go to different schools. Besides, the 'friends'you are going to leave school for, you won't talk to anymore once you move. I would tell the 16-year-old-me, rules are a good thing, they keep you in line. Besides EVERYONE has rules they must follow no matter how young or how old. I would tell the 18 year old me that clubs are over rated, find a good church to go to. I would tell the 21 year old me, spend more time with your Grandma. She won't be here forever. I would tell the 26 year old me, enjoy your time with your children, they are only young once so you only have one chance to train them up in the way to go....I would go back and remind them all that tomorrow isn't promised and yesterday is gone so enjoy today because it is all you really have. You know, the more I think about it, I can wait....
