When I moved to Gawja, I didn't know I would have to give up some things...I came here from California, so I went to the mall looking for Sees, They looked at me
and said "What chu want to see?"
That was eye opener number 1. But surely since I was back close to the East Coast I could find a Tastykake, right? Keep in mind, I moved to Atlanta in February 1996, most companies weren't really doing business online yet. So I go looking for a 7-eleven. Nope they don't have 7-eleven in Georgia...Well then where is the Food Lion...errrrr umm "We got a Kroger...you looking for a grocery store?"
At the grocery store, I wander to the chip aisle, I really want some chips.... "Excuse me, where are Utz? " The reply, "Y'all are on aisle 8. Are you ok?"
"I said UTZ not us?" Alrighty then, I guess I will just make some sandwiches. Me on the bread aisle to the clerk: "Excuse me, do you have Wonder? " The reply, "At times I do wonder about a whole lot of stuff like why is the sky blue and where...."
Where is this strange place I have fallen into....no Sees, no Tastykake, no Utz, no Wonder bread, no 7-eleven, no Food Lion.....Houston, we have a problem. Since that day, I have gotten use to QT. I even like the local grocery chains, especially since I found my Wonder Bread
I can order Sees, Tastykake, and Utz online. In the days of the global economy why can't I get my Tastykake, which is produced right in Pennsylvania, in the grocery store; but I can order a rug from China and they will get here at the same time?!?!?!? ugggggggh I just don't like them telling me "You can't get that here."
HAHAHAHAHA Good question. That's funny how we have Utz in NC but yall don't
have them in GA, weird....LOL
I know right....hahaha...my sister hipped me to the Utz online thing when
she had a case delivered to her job :)
HAHA this is funny! I know how ya feel sis. When I moved to MD from NC, I
was trippin cuz I couldn't find any red hots or REAL barbecue. These
people think red hots are hot dogs and barbecue is shredded chicken with
BBQ sauce on it. Oh lawd....
hehe SM I hear ya...I sure miss going to the Wharf for a bushel of
crabs.... :( I went to high school in PG county (Friendly class of 88 go
