Hey there Blogland!
I hope you all had a fabulous holiday season. So did you miss me? ![]()
Alright so what's has been happening with Newy? Well let's see...in November, I spoke at a convention in Chicago. At the same time, I got to visit with family I have not seen in years. The plane ride back is where it got interesting. The flight back was totally full. For some reason, the airline had canceled the 7am flight so we had folks from that flight trying to get on the 9:30 flight. I made my way to my seat, put my laptop under the seat in front of me and my coat in the overhead bin. As I pulled out my MP3 player, I looked up and saw him. He had broad shoulders and dancing eyes lit up his well chiseled face, a hint of a dimple appeared in his left cheek. Our eyes met across the sea of people and as I glanced at the empty seat next to me, all I could think was "Please, God, let this be his seat." As he passed by the seat, I felt my heart sink and figured that my seat companion would probably be one of those blue haired people that was behind him.
So I put my earbuds in my ears and tried to settle in for what would surely be a long flight sitting next to someone that probably smelled like bengay. I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked up to see the bronzed Adonis standing there. He gestured toward the window and said, "I believe that's my seat." I whispered a silent "Thank you, Lord." As I stood slightly to let him in. The fresh clean manly scent of him tickled my nose. He put his bag under the seat in front of him and shrugged off his coat. I took it and placed it in the bin over our heads. The flight attendants began the customary "Floatation device, oxygen mask" speech and he leaned over and said "How many people do you think actually listen to them when they do that?" I giggled as I glanced around and saw people flipping through magazines or talking to their seat companions then replied, "maybe two...me and you." LOL The conversation flowed easily, I learned alot about the marine reservist sitting next to me. We talked about kids, family, jobs and aspirations. The two hour flight was not nearly long enough. As we walked down the concourse, I was headed to baggage claim, and he was headed to a connecting flight. I gave him my card and told him to "look me up if he was ever in Atlanta."
That was November 15th. From time to time, I thought about him, but I never heard from him. That is until Saturday. I got a text and an email from him. He started off by reminding me of who he was and where we met. He then apologized for not contacting me sooner. Turns out, he had misplaced my card and just found it again Friday night. The conversations (yes there have been multiple conversations) have flowed easily and it has been as if no time has passed. I think 2009 is going to be a very good year after all. ![]()

blessed new year.
Thanks sis! Yeah very promising. Scary that we can complete each others
thoughts. LOL but we shall see.
Well well it seems like the new year is gonna be a good one like that great
ride and the amusement park lol! but the catch is to actually have the
nerve to take that ride and hang on and don't be afraid of it! but like
always good luck!
I am honored you made an appearance :) Luck has nothing to do with it
though ;)
